ALTERNATERS

An alternator is an electrical generator which converts mechanical energy to electrical energy in the form of alternating current. Most alternators use a rotating magnetic field with a stationary armature for cost and simplicity.

Occasionally, a linear alternator/ rotating armature with a stationary magnetic field is used. Generally, any AC electrical generator can be called an alternator, but usually the term refers to small rotating machines driven by automotive and other internal combustion engines.

At Geosergio Auto Electrical we have a test bench to evaluate the state of health and charging power of an alternator. We service loose units as well as remove, repair and replace at our premises. A few parts are available for sale as loose units.
